Day One
Well - for my first day back I ran 4.22 miles at school. About a mile of it was on the track and the rest was around school. It is pretty flat so I felt like I was flying. I finshed it in about 45 minutes. It was a beautiful day. Perfect weather, clear and comfortable and almost no humidity!! The perfect day for a run. I got to think about school. I was trying to sort through all of the SIOP training I got today and then about how I can put intervention strategies in place for behavior issues at school. I wondered how in the world I will get everything graded and entered. Then I looked up and saw the beautiful sunset. The sky was pink and orange and gold and I thought to myself - right now I can handle just about anything.

I am taking the plunge and getting back into shape!
Well, I have decided to take the plunge and get back into shape. I have a some very specific goals in mind, culminating in one major event - to run the Richmond Marathon next November. I have mini goals along the way. One - to run the Monument Ave 10k in 50 minutes. Two - to run a half marathon somewhere near the end of summer in 1 hour and 45 minutes. Three - my ultimate goal - to run the Richmond Marathon in 4 hours or less next November. Along the way I hope to stay injury free, run some local small races and maybe even lose the weight I gained when pregnant with Sese through now. It wont' be easy and I want to be held accountable. I am going to take off Sundays and whenever weather absolutely prevents me from running outside (think hurricane, blizzard, etc) and I don't have a treadmill available. I want to catalog my journey each and every day that I run with a post and a pic. Hopefully that will keep me motivated. I also need to get out of my neighborhood and run somewhere else. I can only do so many hilly neighborhood loops. Encouragement and movtivation provided by friends is very welcome and needed! Come and join me on my journey - it should be interesting. DAY ONE is TOMORROW!
